Press “Pause”

No crowds, cold weather
“Love: No Crowds! Hate: Down Coat on the Beach!”

What do I love about being at the beach this time of year? NO crowds! There isn’t a wait at the restaurants. There’s practically no traffic. It’s easy to feel like you live here. The shops are filled with fresh merchandise that’s fun to look through.

What do I hate about the beach this time of year? Having to wear a down coat to walk on it!

It’s ok, though. I prefer this cool, sunny weather to the oppressive heat of summer. Yesterday was gorgeous! We walked about four or five miles yesterday. I took a nap. Then we went for a long drive. We didn’t have a pretty sunset which was disappointing. The sunsets here are stunning. I’m hoping to catch a sunrise or two while we’re here. The temperature all night is a steady fifty-three degrees. I’ll take that!

Sometimes you just need to take a break from your surroundings. It can be something big that you plan for ahead of time like a trip away. Or, it can be a drive or a hike or a visit to a museum. BE-ing. Breathing. Taking a break from the ordinary hubbub of life can give you a fresh perspective. Our mind needs a mental break. Our body needs refreshment. Our spirit needs to be recharged. It doesn’t have to cost a lot to accomplish a lot. I hope you will make plans to just BE for a little while…no matter what that looks like for you. Press “pause”.❤️

“The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.””
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭33:14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

  1. Amen! We all need to “Press Pause” on a regular basis. So that we can renew our important relationships, God, Spouses, ourselves, and family. Those relationships are to important to put on a back burner. Thanks Ginny. Greg and I haven’t paused in a few months, I will tell him you said we need to have “our pause time”. Thanks.

  2. Enjoy your pause. You don’t have to be anywhere at a certain time. You don’t have to give a speech. Nobody expects anything of you right now. Sit in a comfortable chair. Slowly inhale that fresh sea water. Count to ten – then slowly exhale through your mouth. Do that 10 times. Now, just sit back and relax!?
