In Like a Lion…

  1. In Like a lion...out like a lamb.

Yesterday was some crazy weather here in West Virginia. You know they mean business when there’s a tornado warning here. I had just gone out to the rental car to check it over for damages when the storm hit. Within seconds, the time it took me to walk 10 feet to my friend’s car, I was soaked to the skin so we went to Bob Evans and drank coffee till the storm calmed down and we warmed up and dried off a little bit.

After picking up the car and making a quick stop for groceries, I headed out to the farm. I haven’t been here for more than a few minutes since I left a week ago and was in the accident. I have the best neighbors who stop in to check on the cats and feed them, pick up the mail, and generally make their presence known. Driving home yesterday, there were a few places where the road was down to one lane as they cleared trees downed by the storm and unplugged culverts. When I got out near the farm, the river was only a few feet from crossing the highway. I’ve never seen it so high my entire life. It was pretty impressive. The creek by the house on the farm is flowing smoothly now so the debris has washed out of the culvert by the road.

Spring is bringing out the animals on the farm. There are a lot more raccoons and possums as well as skunks. The ground is riddled with mole tunnels. The bird population has increased as they begin to migrate north. There are flowering trees poking out here and there as the daffodils and other bulbs are beginning to poke their pretty little heads up. The world is coming back to life. This is the perfect time to kick back and relax. There’s nothing more I can do as far as errands for the truck and insurance. A trip every other day to the chiropractor is helping immensely.

March came in like a lion. Let’s hope it goes out like a lamb!!! ❤️

“I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm.””
